PSA: If a Company Is Calling You Unsolicited, It’s Probably a Scam

Phone call scams are too common. But they’re easier to spot than you might think. If someone calls you and claims to be from the IRS, your bank, Microsoft, or any other company or government agency, it’s probably a scam. Companies and government agencies will almost never call you out of nowhere.

  1. True, no one will call you out of the blue and ask for your bank details especially the IRS. Spotting a scammer is key. These fraudsters are becoming more cunning and wise, pretending to be family members in danger. But asking for iTunes card is a sign that it is a scam. There are growing number of phone scams and the best thing to do is ignore these phone calls. Take note of the phone number and search for the number on websites like https://www.callercenter.com to check if it has been reported for scam. Report the matter to the authorities immediately.
